As with most things, old age and weathering take its toll. A deck that was used as a break area had become dilapidated to the point of needing a complete replacement. Rather than going with the standard treated lumber deck as a replacement, which would need to be re-stained each year, the decision was made to go with a more permanent solution that would last relatively maintenance free for many years. After creating a level, raised area using a segmental wall system, a paver patio was installed to create an intimate yet artful space that employees would appreciate. Landscaping around the perimeter of the wall system created both a visual and physical barrier that was both beautiful and functional at the same time. The final step was to install low voltage lighting for the steps, which would provide a visual reference and safety during reduced visibility or wet conditions.
